Hi! Welcome! I am so excited that you’re here!
I am starting an epic journey (not like Mordor epic, but probably close) toward published authordom. I already consider myself to be an author since I write things and I complete them, but I have never published any of my works and now I want to do just that.
I currently have a Bible study in the works and several novels in various stages of completion. It has been an incredible journey already going from hobby to serious.
I began talking to my husband a few months ago about possibly turning serious with my writing. As always, he was incredibly supportive and he believes I can do it. When I finally took the plunge and made the commitment to put in the work to actually getting published, it was a really big deal. I have been part of several writing groups on Facebook and my current group, Authors’ Tale, has probably been the driving force behind my commitment. I am surrounded by a community of writers in various stages of authoring and it helps to push me to do more and to be better. I’ve also learned SO much from my group members about writing, editing, the process, the journey – all of it. I am so grateful to everyone in my group.
As part of my journey, I have decided to have some channels where I share my experience and document my journey. Yes, this is the very beginning of the journey. I am only a few short weeks in from my decision to take the plunge.
I am so excited and nervous and scared and overwhelmed all at once about this, but I know that nothing worth doing is easy. My plan seems immense and it has so many different parts to it, a thousand little pieces of the puzzle to reveal the big picture.
At this time, I plan on updating my blog once a week, on Wednesdays, with helpful posts that relate to videos I will have on my Youtube channel. I will be uploading videos on Tuesdays and having related blogs on here on Wednesdays. My goal is to provide guidance and support to others who are further behind on this journey than me.
I am a pantser and I want to talk a lot about it. There is so much help out there about how to outline or build a novel from a concept in a very logical and structured way, but what about those of us who don’t work like that? Where are the videos about pantsing? Where are the blogs that break down the problems you run into while pantsing and work through how to resolve them? Well, here I am! I’d love to be your one stop shop for pantsing needs!
I’m an at-home mom of two kids, ages 18 months and 3 and a bit. I also have two large dogs, six backyard chickens, and an in-home daycare. The time I can spend on my writing dreams is limited, but I am trying my best to stay organized and on top of my goals to achieve them. It takes hard work, right? I’ve definitely been putting in the work.
So, what about you? What brings you here? What are your goals? What are you working on if you’re a writer? Let me know! I’d love to get to know you too.
Take care and until next time, happy writing!
