The case of the absentee blogger…

Oh gosh, that’s me!

I’ve had kinds of really good intentions about being hyper consistent over here, and CLEARLY that hasn’t happened. I have about four books waiting to be reviewed (I WILL get to them eventually… ), but first, I have some exciting news!

I’ve been published again!

Yes! The novelette anthology And Man Grew Proud just published at the beginning of this month, which is very exciting for those of us published therein.

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing author interviews from each author featured in the anthology so that you can get a bit of extra info behind the stories and maybe even find some new authors to love and follow. I absolutely adore my own story in there and have gotten good feedback from those who have read it, which is really encouraging. So, if you feel so inclined, I highly recommend the anthology, though my recommendation could be a bit biased. ha!

I front-loaded most of my goals for the year and that’s mostly what’s been keeping me away.

I’ve finished my round of copyediting for my next short story anthology which will be coming out some time this year. Things have been a bit slower than in years’ past, but it will get out. We’re just working to make sure it’s the best it can be.

I’ve finished beta reading for a lovely writer friend.

I’ve finished several commissioned knitting projects (and am working on my final commission now–at least the final one that has currently been commissioned).

I’ve also started in a new venture of editing myself and I’m currently working on my very first client’s manuscript. So that has also been exciting.

In the midst of all of that, I’ve been still tinkering with Tamerna trying to get it ready for alpha readers. My goal is to have it ready at the beginning of April for them, so I have some time, but I’ll have to be diligent about staying on track.

In distraction-based news, I’ve finally opened our brand new Scrabble game and have been challenging my husband to a few games and my 4 year old wants to play every few days (which, let’s be honest here, is me playing off two different benches, haha!), but that has been monumentally fun for me. So, there is lots more Scrabble in my future. It breaks up the monotony of CandyLand and Chutes and Ladders.

It feels as though life is slowing down a hair, at least as far as my personal goals go. I’ve been fighting a cough/cold for about two weeks now and I really think it’s finally going away, so I’m really chomping at the bit to get back to running next week. I’ll give myself a few more days to get really tip top before starting back up.

I also have temporarily shut down my author Instagram and Twitter accounts (you may have noticed). I found that right now they were causing me more stress than anything else, so I made the decision to back off a bit and ramp back up again later if I feel it’s something I can realistically maintain. Trying to keep all these social media accounts active among everything else I’m doing was too much. I am very sure they’ll be back in the future, but for now, I needed to simplify, so simplify I did. It’s been marvelous for my stress level.

Because of all these things, like I said above, I’ve had a hard time getting over here and getting my business done. I do hope to slowly turn that around and starting on Monday, there will be author interviews and once all the authors have been interviewed, expect to see some book reviews again. I’ve read some really good ones that I’m very excited to share with you.

I hope you’ve all been well and that life is humming away nicely. Until we meet again, let your introvert shine and wash your hands!
